About Us

Parish Council Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month in Kislingbury Village Hall at 7.30pm.

The press and members of the public are welcome to attend. Minutes can be seen on this website, Parish Notice Boards and in the Church Porch.

The Council

  • Is a corporate body, accountable to the electorate and all decisions made are the responsibility of the Council as a whole
  • Agrees a Precept (money raised by South Northamptonshire Council, for the parish, as part of our council tax)
  • Monitors decisions – budgets, precepts, financial regulations, standing orders, risk assessments
  • Holds monthly meetings (3rd Tuesday in the month) which are open to the public, except in certain circumstances

Role of Councillors

Councillors are elected for a period of four years, the next election will be held in 2020. By-elections may be held during the term if a vacancy occurs. Your councillors are listed on the ‘Your Councillors‘ page.

Councillors must…

  • Complete a declaration of Acceptance of Office and accept the Council’s Code of Conduct
  • Behave in an ethical way and declare an interest when necessary
  • Respond to the needs and views of the community
